A-Sessions | Zany Guy Exploring Ceará, Brazil

When Cape Verde went flat, Zany Guy figured it was time to head West: a new coastline, reliable wind, and more chances to get on the water. What started as an escape from the quiet season turned into a month exploring Brazil's northeast coast, discovering new spots and adapting to different conditions.

Luckily, filmmaker Tiago Azzi was on hand to play local tour guide. Brazil was a whole different ball game compared to Cape Verde. Stronger, mostly side-onshore winds and smaller waves meant Zany had to get creative and figure out these unfamiliar conditions.

"Cape Verde is more of a wave paradise, with plenty of waves and some really big ones, whereas Brazil is more of a wind paradise. It was really fun to experience something different and adapt my riding to those conditions"

Out of all the places they checked out, Taíba definitely stole the show. After days of chasing wind and downwind swell, the crew finally lucked into some (little) waves.

"I don't think I've ever been so happy to ride waist-high waves in my life!"

What made Taíba particularly special was the daily routine. Early mornings brought glassy, windless conditions, perfect for surf foiling. As the morning progressed, the wind would fill in, bringing the opportunity to switch to wingfoiling.

"Having the best of both worlds almost every day was amazing!"

Beyond the water, Brazil delivered just as much. Incredible landscapes, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and welcoming locals made the experience even more memorable. And, of course, fresh coconut water after every session became an essential part of the routine!

A month on the road, new conditions to figure out, and plenty of time on foil. Brazil gave Zany everything he came looking for, and a few reasons to return.
