UHA Front Foil - FAQs

If you’re looking at the UHA range, most questions come down to how it feels on the water and how it compares to what you’re already riding. Designed around glide, efficiency and flow, UHA brings a different style of riding, focused less on lift and more on carrying speed and connecting sections.

Below, we break down the most common questions to help you understand where it fits, how to size it, and how to get the most out of it across different conditions and disciplines.

1. What does the UHA feel like compared to HA?

It feels faster, smoother and more efficient. You don’t get that strong lift build like HA; it’s more controlled and keeps carrying speed. The biggest difference is how easily it glides and connects bumps or waves.

2. How should you choose your UHA size coming from HA?

If you want more speed and a similar feel, you can size down. If you want to keep things easy with early lift and max glide, stay around the same size. Most people are surprised they can go smaller than they think.

3. How does it handle in a small swell?

Really well if you like flow. It’s not about tight turns, it’s more about linking waves, carrying speed and making the most out of the conditions.

4. Is the UHA only for downwind?

Not at all. It’s amazing for downwind, but it also works really well for winging, parawing and even small surf. It’s one of those foils that crosses over nicely.

5. Who is the UHA best suited for?

Anyone who values glide and efficiency. If you like connecting waves, riding longer lines and having a smoother, faster feel, you’ll get a lot out of it.

 6. Is it good for pumping and linking waves?

That’s where it really shines. It holds speed well, recovers easily, and lets you link sections without constantly pumping.

7. Is the UHA suited for parawinging?

Definitely, the glide and low stall speed make it ideal. It gives you more time to manage the wing and keeps you flying with less effort.

8. What stabilizer should you pair with the UHA for swell?

Most people tend to lean towards smaller, faster stabilizers like the Speed range to keep the setup quick and efficient. If you’re after a bit more control in stronger conditions, you can size up slightly. UHA riders are also using the Surf stabilizer for a tighter turning radius.

9. Is the UHA suited for prone surf foiling?

Yes, but it depends on your style. It’s better for open-face riding and linking waves than for tight, snappy turns.

10. Will the UHA still work as an all-rounder?

Yes, just with a different feel. It’s faster and more glide-focused than HA, but still versatile enough to cover a lot of disciplines in one setup.

11. How does the UHA pair with Foil Drive?

With its low stall speed and ease of use, this makes it an ideal foil for Foil Drive. Perfect for riding lower energy swell or further out in the surf, and just as at home gliding across open ocean bumps on a downwind run.

12. Will the UHA work well for dock start pump foiling?

We’d recommend the UHA foils for more advanced dock starters. If you’re just learning, the APF pump foils are a better place to start, with a higher stall speed that makes it easier to get up and build confidence.

Once you’re ready to push further and go faster, the UHA opens up a whole new dockstart experience.
